Help me win!!

Hi friends and family!

Ok, this time, it’s for real….. I am a finalist in the Nikon Moving Moments Photo Contest! Out of 27,000+ entries they chose 120 finalists and 2 of those were my pictures. The top 60 vote getters will get a new DSLR camera! Yeah!

The first picture is Piper’s newborn hand holding Kenneth’s finger. The second is an upclose black an white of Piper and my mom kissing.

You can vote for both pictures one time every day through July 15. Would you help me out by voting for both of my pictures as often as you are able through July 15? I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!

And if you wouldn’t mind passing this on to as many friends and family as you can… I would appreciate that as well!

God’s Preservation

Our story. It’s one that scared us. Then made us thankful. Then made us shake our heads in amazement.

Last week, Kenneth was going to clean out our gutters. If you look at the picture of our house, you will see, it is no easy task. We do not have a tall enough ladder to reach the gutters from the ground. So, Kenneth has to take our regular size ladder, put it on our back deck, and then climb up onto the roof. He then has to lean over to clean out the gutters. And to clean out the front gutters, he has to walk over the top of our roof, scoot down to the front edge and then lean over. Always a fun chore.

Well, this time, he followed the same procedure. Except that our girls were in the backyard playing. Kenneth was working on the front side of our house. A short time after being on the roof, I hear Kenneth screaming. I run to see what was going on and about died when I saw. Our sweet, spirited, curious, adventurous, fearless, two-year-old Piper had done the unthinkable. She had climbed up the ladder, climbed to the top of the roof and looked over the top of the roof at her daddy. When Kenneth saw her he went to grab her and she took off down the back side of our roof. Kenneth got a hold of her without incident but it could have been bad bad bad. It took a day or so to get over the terrified feelings that came with what happened and what terrible thing could have been the outcome. We are so very thankful for God’s preservation of our little girl!

Father’s Day 2008

This year for Father’s Day, I put together a montage of photos of the last 4 years with our girls. I was so happy with how it came out and Kenneth loved it. Yeah!

Below is the video if you are interested and have 11 spare minutes :)
